Choosing a Calacatta Gold Quartz Worktop
Calacatta Gold is not one universal quartz product. Several manufacturers produce their own interpretation of the design, with differences in the white background, the balance of grey and gold veining, the scale of the pattern and the technical specifications. This gives you more choice, but it also means two samples carrying a similar name may not look identical.
We will confirm the exact quartz selected for your project before ordering and provide the relevant material information. For a strongly veined design, we recommend viewing a sample alongside a full-slab image because a small sample cannot show the complete pattern.

20mm or 30mm Calacatta Gold Quartz?
Both thicknesses can create an attractive finished kitchen. A 20mm worktop gives a slimmer, more contemporary appearance, while 30mm creates a stronger and more substantial edge. The right option depends on the kitchen design, cabinet construction, edge detail and the look you want to achieve.
Our advertised starting package is based on a 30mm one-slab job. If you prefer 20mm, or your project needs more than one slab, send us your kitchen plan for an individual quotation.
Planning Veins, Joins and Feature Areas
Calacatta-style quartz should be planned as a patterned surface rather than treated like a plain colour. On a long worktop run, island, corner, splashback or waterfall end, the direction and position of the main veins can change the finished appearance.
During templating and fabrication, we assess dimensions, cut-outs, joints, edge details and access. If vein positioning is especially important, tell us before fabrication so it can be discussed as part of the layout.

Care and Everyday Use
Care instructions can differ between manufacturers, so we will identify the selected material and provide the appropriate guidance. Quartz should not be described as heat-proof or scratch-proof. Use a trivet or heat pad beneath hot cookware, use a chopping board rather than cutting directly on the worktop, and avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning products unless approved by the manufacturer.
Contact us before using a specialist stain remover or chemical treatment if you are unsure whether it is suitable.
18-Month Installation Workmanship Warranty
London Kitchen Worktops provides an 18-month workmanship warranty covering the installation. If an installation issue arises during that period, contact us and we will assess it and return to correct covered workmanship where required.
Please keep the final invoice as proof of purchase. The workmanship warranty is separate from any material warranty offered by the manufacturer.
